with two artificial hormones – progestin and estrogen. The estrogen makes body

other hand, estrogen helps thicken the lining of the uterus, making it harder
for sperm to enter the uterus so eggs can not be fertilized and hence no pregnancy.
Progestin-only pills or commonly known as POP or mini-pill do not contain estrogen.
