Birth Control Pills to Stop Breakthrough Bleeding Embarrassment
Women
taking birth control pills are usually concerned about the sudden breakthrough
that is very much embarrassing moment. They wish to be on contraception pill but
at the same time not willing to get this embarrassing experience. This is the
reason why they are always lookout for one medicine to another to find out which
could be the best one that will stop breakthrough bleeding while still giving
full protection against unintended pregnancies.
All popular contraception
pills are made of combination of two hormones - progestin and estrogen where progestins
are available in more than 8 versions. Each type of progestin has different characteristics
in terms of estrogenic, androgenic and androgenic effects. Due to various amount
of combination of estrogen and progestin hormones dosages in the pill, the side
effects also differ. Women also react differently to the effects (which women
find it as the "side effects) to the level of changes in hormones in the pills.
Studies
have shown that birth control pills that contain the higher level of estrogen,
higher progestin level potency and lower androgen level of potency produce less
amount side effects of breakthrough bleeding or sudden spotting and even acne.
Following are the names of few combination pills that have these characteristics.
1.
Demulen 1/50
2. Desogen
3.
Ortho Cept
4. Ovcon 50
5.
Yasmin
6. Zovia
Demulen
1/50 is also found to be very helping in controlling acne. However, Yaz
birth control is another popular brand in extremely minizing acne.
Another
well-known birth control pill, Estrostep FE consists of high androgenic and low-level
estrogenic hormones do not exactly fit into the above-mentioned list of contraception
pills. It was originally designed to overcome breakthrough bleeding problems while
keeping the hormones exposure at the lowest possible.
Many women are also
found to be a bit confused with "ethynodiol diacetate" type of progestin and believe
that it could be the cause of spotting and breakthrough-bleeding. Usually, women
taking birth control pills containing ethynodiol diacetate progesin have experienced
breakthrough bleeding throughout days 10 to menstruation. However, studies have
shown that it is in fact the level of estrogen in the dose (rather than ethynodiol
diacetate progestin) that could offset the major cause of breakthrough bleeding.
So the brands that containing higher level of estrogen alongwith ethynodiol diacetate
can minimize the side effects due to strong estrogen hormones presence.
