Use Ovulation Calculator Fertility Method to Know When to Get Pregnant
Find out when you can be due for delivery by using ovulation calculation method.

Ovulation calculation method is widely used by women to assess the best time to conceive a child. It is very disappointing for women when they realized that they missed the days where they could be pregnant. This method is used to calculate days when you are going to evaluate. Simultaneously, this method can also be used for couples who wish to delay their parenthood plans.

In most of the ovulation calender, days of fertility counted are based on recent menstrual cycle information to begin with and assumption of ovulation date of 14 days after the first day of period starts, also known as the number of days in your luteal phase. You need to remember you last started menstruating and how long (between 20 to 45 days) your cycle usually lasts. Based on these information, you will be able to expect when you're most likely to be fertile in future months and your due date. However, most of the ovulation calculation methods whether calculator tools or chart, are not 100% precisely accurate but the approximate days. Ovulation calculation also assumes that you have "regular" menstrual cycle every month. If, for example, your monthly cycle period is 28 days then ovulation calculation method presumes it will always be 28 days in future. If it is 30 days in case of some women, then future cycles would be 30 days and so on. However, it can be true in some cases where women experience regular menstrual cycle with fixed days.

Hence, many women prefer to keep the records on chart for calculating days. Some women prefer examining cervical mucus (a clear sticky substance forms changes when eggs are getting fertilized). Ovulation method is also know as cervical mucus method to know the changes of cervical mucus every month helping you to understand better the chances of getting pregnant. When ovulation is about to occur, you will notice that cervical mucus is very clear, stretchy and slippery, very similar to raw white egg. When this happens, it will help sperm in great way to swim upto uterus to fertilize eggs and hence pregnancy occurs. When the woman realizes this change of cervical mucus, she can decide either to conceive or avoid intercourse to get unwanted pregnancy or she might insist on her partner to use condom. However this method of natural birth control is not practiced by every woman. It requires adequate knowledge to check her cervical mucus every month.

If you prefer maintaining ovulating chart (which is the best method to be more accurate) then you need to mention few terms to keep the records. When you do not discharge, mark as "dry", when it is low, write as "medium" and when you experience a lot discharge, mark that day as "wet. In fact, your wet days are more likely when you ovulate. You can also take help of Ovulation or Fertility Predictor Kits.

Use of Ovulation Calender Method :

So, ovulation calculation method will be based on these assumptions :

Average length of cycle : (20 to 45 days - default is 28)
Average Luteal Phase Length: (9 to 16 days - default is 14)

This will give you approximate dates for
Estimated ovulation :
Due date :

If the first day of the month is assumed as your first day of menstrual cycle with 14 days of average Luteal phase length and length of cycle is 29 days then your time of ovulation will be as below :

• April 01, 2007 - First day of cycle
• April 12, 2007 - You will be a bit fertile
• April 13, 2007 - You are fertile
• April 14, 2007 - You are "very fertile" today
• April 15, 2007 - Its time to ovulate
• April 29, 2007 - Your cycle ends

Now, your period must start on May 1, 2007. If it doesn't then chances are that you are pregnant.

If you are pregnant then your approximate due date is January 8, 2008

Above illustration is to give you a fair idea about working days but not necessarily working precisely. It can not be accurate all the time and you need to update chart baed on your luteal phase and length of cycle every month to be more accurate. Conception also depends upon the sexual habits of the couples so 50% couples conceive within three months, 75% in six months and 90% in a year's time. Couples who are have intercourse daily are most likely to conceive within the first month itself. However, in spite of being active and you are not able to conceive within three months, it is advisable to seek doctor's advice.
